Most operations teams I've talked to will tell you their inventory accuracy is somewhere in the high 90s. And maybe their system says that. But if you've ever walked a count and found a pallet of product sitting in a lane that hasn't been touched in three weeks, or pulled up a pick location to find 47 units when the WMS says 200, you already know there's a gap between the number and the truth.

The problem usually isn't carelessness. It's process.
